Askento (askento.com) is an informational website that publishes answers to everyday questions about home repair, food and cooking, and technology.

2. Information We Collect

Askento does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to read content. We may collect:

  • Page and click events — a first-party script (funnel-beacon.js) records the page path you viewed and the destination of any affiliate link you click, and sends them to our own analytics endpoint. It sends no name, email, IP address, or device identifier, and sets no cookie.
  • Cookies and local storage — your cookie choice is stored in your browser's local storage. Advertising services set cookies only after you accept (see section 5).
  • Contact form submissions — if you use the Ask form, the message you write plus any name or email you choose to supply are sent to us through Web3Forms, a third-party form processor.
  • Feature requests — the Request a feature form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam. Requests are stored without any personal details — the form has no name, email, or phone field.
  • Email address — only if you voluntarily email us at [email protected]. We do not run a mailing list.

  • To understand which content is most useful and improve the site
  • To serve relevant advertisements (via Google AdSense, if enabled)
  • To respond to questions sent via email

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Content on Askento is for general informational purposes only. Articles may be written or assisted by artificial intelligence (AI) and are reviewed on a best-effort basis. We make no warranty that all information is accurate, complete, or current.

We use Google AdSense, which is loaded only after you accept cookies. It uses cookies to serve personalised advertisements. We do not use Google Analytics. You can opt out of personalised ads via Google Ad Settings.

Affiliate links may appear in articles. If you purchase a product via an affiliate link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

6. Third-Party Links

Articles may link to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.

7. Children's Privacy

Askento is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. How Long We Keep Data

  • Page and click events — retained in aggregate for up to 24 months to track which content performs, then deleted. They are not linked to an identifiable person at any point.
  • Contact form submissions — kept in our email inbox for as long as needed to answer you, and deleted within 24 months. Web3Forms' own retention is governed by their privacy policy.
  • Email sign-up addresses — until September 2026 the site showed an email sign-up form. We never sent a mailing to anyone who used it. Those addresses are not used for anything, and they are deleted within 24 months of submission. Email [email protected] to have yours deleted sooner.
  • Cookie preference — stored in your browser until you clear your browsing data. It never reaches our servers.
  • Advertising and affiliate cookies — set and retained by Google and Skimlinks under their own policies, not ours.

We do not build user profiles, and we do not sell personal information.

9. Your Rights

If you are located in the EU/EEA (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you may have rights regarding your personal data including access, correction, and deletion. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].
